SEASONAL INTERIORS #1 - MARCH, 2022
It’s finally THAT time of year….time to blow away the cobwebs of winter’s hibernation, let the spring air flow in and turn a new leaf for a new season that is finally upon us. I think we are all ready for spring and eager to sprinkle our homes with colour and positivity this season!
If you’ve followed me on Instagram, you’ll know I recently finished a kitchen extension on the back of my house. Most of it was completed before Christmas but we are still in the “snagging” phase where little jobs need to be fixed. In all honesty, I was so exhausted from the entire process that it’s taken me a while to get excited to start properly decorating but slowly but surely I’m starting to visualise how I’d like to style each corner. The spring air that we’ve been blessed with the past few days in London has gotten me so excited for the new season, so today I thought I’d share some of the current interiors styles I’m drawn to as well as share a list of my favourite homeware items for this season… Happy reading!
Pastel Hues
Pastel hues are what I'm forever drawn to. Whether it's a dusty blue, a pale pink or delicate mint, I'm obsessed. I've kept that as the sort of theme throughout my house, different colours in each room but the common theme is that they are always pastel in tone. I love this bedside table and this set of drawers that Oliver Bonas has released this season.
I've also recently decided to repaint my master bedroom a sage pastel green (much to my husband Luca's delight!) so I'm going to tackle that this summer. I had initially painted it a dusty pink but I've changed my mind after living in for a while and I now have a clear vision for the room. Sometimes it takes a while for your visions to come into focus - you really cannot force creativity, an idea will come to you when the moment is right!
Rattan Fever
It's funny, my visions for the house were slightly different before we moved in. I always loved that shabby chic French look, white washed furniture and so on. Recently though what's really been speaking to me are art deco interiors, lots of golds, bold shapes and sumptuous textures such as velvet. However, I’m toning down the vibe with delicate hints of rattan. Initially I wasn’t a huge lover of rattan as I felt it had too much of a Bali/tropical feel, instead I’m heading down the more feminine look, often found in charming seaside towns such as Charleston in the USA. I'm dying to go there one day, it looks so idyllic!! I think I’m going to get my hands on this Maisons du Monde rattan sideboard for my kitchen when it comes back in stock.
Some of my favourite IG accounts to follow that I think perfectly emulate this style are:

That French Bistro Life
I’ve always had a thing for French cafes. It’s a moment I appreciate so much when I’m in Paris, watching people sit reading the newspaper with their morning coffee under the Parisian sun. There is something slow and magical about the cafe culture in Paris and I love it. I've always wanted to bring a bit of that bistro flair into my home, via cute coffee cups, bistro chairs and marble tables. One of the first things I bought for my kitchen was a set of four bistro chairs from Anthropologie, they have quite a few colours available currently! I also recently purchased some gorgeous coffee mugs from Café Kitsuné that remind me of pretty Paree.
Travel-inspired Goodies
I love bringing elements of where I’ve travelled to into my home, to remind me of all my past adventures. Trips we make are so meaningful so why not have sprinkles of those memories all over your house? My travel prints are what I love decorating my home with most. Each photograph I take teleports me back to that special place, the ideal remedy when you look up at your walls on a rainy winter’s day. You can shop all my travel prints on my Etsy shop :)
Other things I love to buy when I’m travelling are cook books, so I can cook up the things I’ve tried whilst away. One of my current favourites is this gorgeous dessert book “La Vita e Dolce” by Letitia Clark, which is full of Italian-inspired desserts! Not only are the desserts divine, but the book is absolutely gorgeous too!
Below I’ve rounded up some of my favourite items this spring, a combination of all the elements I’ve mentioned above. Hopefully this round-up gives you a little inspiration for jazzing up your home decor this season and thanks for stopping by! :)
